Odiyan Long Life Birthday Present
On August 9, 2025 Odiyan Retreat Center, established by Tarthang Rinpoche as Home for Dharma in the West, will be celebrating its 50th birthday.
Please join us and several other Nyingma organisations in preparing a joint birthday gift, honouring the very special place that Odiyan fulfils as the center of the TNMC Mandala for the West.
We invite you to join in a collective birthday gift expressing our appreciation for the creation of Odiyan and our wish for its long life and flourishing.
Global Donation Campaign and Mantra Chant
The Odiyan Long Life Birthday Present will be twofold.
Financial contribution for Odiyan 50 years
Together we aim to give a sizeable donation to Odiyan to spend or save up whatever seems most appropriate for Odiyan itself. This gift will be a token of our interconnectedness with the shining heart of the TNMC Mandala for the West and it will certainly support their work for the Dharma.

Odiyan Birthday Mantra Chant
On August 9, the birthday itself, we plan to hold a one hour Vajra Guru Mantra Chant with all orgs participating – making the mantra of Padmasambhava sound across the globe on the anniversary of Odiyan’s founding. We plan to connect locations through Zoom and to also facilitate private participation by all donors in this birthday chant. We will inform all participants nearer to the date about the exact time of the chant, locations of gatherings, zoomlink etcetera. For now we think 10 – 11 hours PDT | 19:00 – 20:00 CES will be a good time.
